My name is Mike Chilson, and I’m the owner of Off Duty Handyman LLC. I’ve always enjoyed fixing things, solving problems, and helping people—it’s just how I’m wired. Whether it’s tackling a stubborn repair or knocking out a growing to-do list, I take pride in delivering quality work you can count on.

I’m an active firefighter with the City of Auburn Fire Department, proudly serving the community since 2014. Firefighting has shaped who I am—reliability, integrity, professionalism, and staying calm under pressure aren’t just buzzwords to me; they’re part of my everyday life. I work a four-days-on, four-days-off schedule, and on my days off I’m fully dedicated to Off Duty Handyman LLC.

Before becoming a firefighter, I built my career in construction, spending many years learning the trade hands-on. From roofing to building houses from the ground up, I developed a strong foundation in craftsmanship and practical problem-solving. That experience allows me to approach each job with confidence, attention to detail, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Family is my biggest motivation. My wife and I have been together since right out of high school, and we now have two little ones at home. With them starting school, I’ve been given the time—and the drive—to help others when I’m off duty. Supporting my family while serving my community is something I take great pride in.
